Tufted Fabric door

Good idea for bedroom doors or inside closet doors. Tufted fabric reminds me of the attic door insulation on our old center hall colonial house in New Jersey. Lining or painting an inside closet door is a good way to integrate into your bedroom color scheme. Whenever the door is  opened you add a splash of contrasting or coordinated color.  This idea comes from  William Pahlmann, a famous decorator of the 1940s-1960s. Here is a watercolor illustrating Pahlmann's scheme for a bedroom closet interior papered in the same pattern as the walls.
